Shooting and Fishing Lodges in Ireland

Set in the midst of some great Irish estates, or in remote areas of unparalleled beauty, Hidden Ireland private country houses include some of the best known shooting and fishing lodges in Ireland. These in turn offer access to some of the best privately owned Irish salmon and trout fishing, and the best privately owned woodcock and snipe shooting in Ireland.

Houses like Delphi Lodge, beside Killary Harbour on the Galway-Mayo border. This was formerly the sporting playground of the Marquesses of Sligo and is perhaps Ireland's best known sporting lodge, famous for its salmon and sea trout fishing and for its fabulous woodcock shooting in winter.

Thirty miles away, near Roundstone in Southern Connemara, is Emlaghmore Lodge, a pretty late-Georgian house with its own private fishery, for sea trout and the occasional salmon, on the Duhulla River and Lakes.

Enniscoe House is another fabulous sporting paradise on the shores of Lough Conn in County Mayo, famed for its brown trout and salmon fishing.
